I can’t improve on the one Ben Myers just
offered. But it’s also helpful to juxtapose Benjamin’s Philosophy of
History with specific parts of the Bible, which I begin to do in a comment to
Ben’s post. Of course, if you read the entire Apocalypse of John with Thesis IX
in mind, you can’t go far wrong. The same applies to 4 Ezra and 2 Baruch. Finally,
I would point out that it is much better to read Benjamin in German if you can.
His prose style is fabulous.
