Apparently not. Perhaps it’s just satire
when he whales on Jewish songwriters who “trash up the malls with Rudolph” “and
the rest of that dreck,” but if so, he mixed in too many value judgments that
do not seem satirical at all. Besides, what’s wrong with Rudolph? Jeez Louise,
what a Grinch. Or a pitch-perfect – too pitch-perfect, spoof thereof.
No, he's rather agnostic -- I went to high school with his niece.

But he seems to like his Christianity straight up, even though he doesn't believe it. Can't say I blame him, but he goes overboard in the op-ed linked to.

So lob a snowball over the border, brother. While you're at it, give him one for Brett the Viking. ;-)

Now you've ruined my evening, Bill, with your allusion to the arch-traitor. ;-)

He's an Episcopalian, apparently. When he did a show in Cincy a number of years ago, he showed up surreptitiously at an Episcopal church.
In any case, I suspect the crankiness is just crotchety old MN man crankiness.

If you can't be crotchety around Christmas time, when can you be? Merry Christmas to you, Angela.
