Ellen Van Wolde’s views on creation and Genesis
1, due to appear in English in a few months thanks to Eisenbrauns (details here;
James Spinti informs me that the proofs will be available for perusal at SBL
New Orleans) have driven the stats of this blog to new heights. My
response to her thesis is here.
It is not unusual for this blog to get to 600 or 700 unique visitors a day. But
in the last three days it has been 1200, 1300, 1400. Links are coming in from
every imaginable direction. Yesterday was the first time this blog received more
than 2000 hits in 24 hours. Many people poke around the blog further. I really,
really need to index the blog properly.
How about a search function while you're at it.

Hi Michael,
That's a great idea and I thought my son the techie was going to do that. I'll have to take it up with him again.
My experience is that Google works as good or better than search functions on blogs. That is, if you put "Ancient Hebrew Poetry" and "Amichai" into a search engine, you will get incomplete results, but not that different from an on-blog search function.

Yes! If her comments provoke you to that, they will have achieved much good in the world.

A reader sent me a link to the PDF of her paper (in Dutch). I posted a review of her major points about bara here, for those who are interested.
