A supremely depressing choice. Art Boulet puts it wonderfully (go here for a complete list of the co-opted):
The modalist and anti-Trinitarian ‘health and wealth’ guru “Bishop” T.D. Jakes (Potter’s House) will give the sermon (i.e., he will yell about ‘hope’ and ‘change’ while simultaneously sweating profusely and not quoting Scripture).
My expectations are so low I expect I will be slightly relieved by Jakes' actual performance.
I have the feeling that his whole term will be tragic comedy. Hope not, but judging by the early decisions , it ain't lookin' good (yeah, I want a Treasury Secretary who can't or won't pay his taxes after getting quarterly statements on how much to pay - just the latest one). Then again, it's not about actually governing well. It's been about image and keeping one's office since at least the early sixties.

We do not claim him no more than he claims us. (Not that I am that good of a modalist, I reckon, myself.) Obama is doing what he did during the election - reaching out to draw all together. I guess I am okay with that, as long as I remember that is more a political move than anything else - I hope.

I am with you on this one John. I am sure the prayer of Bishop Robinson will lift your spirits :)
