Watch this video, and you'll
see what I mean. Anyone know where he went to seminary?

I did a search for this guy and found his ministry's website here.
A bio of his "credentials" is here.

I can honestly say that I think I'm stupider for having watched that.

BTW, here's a list of other graduates of Life Christian University (Ollison's alma mater):
"The list of distinguished ministers include Dr. Joyce Meyer, Drs. Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Dr. Benny Hinn, Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne, Dr. Rick Renner, Dr. Norvel Hayes, Dr. Mike Francen, Dr. Terry Law, Dr. Dennis Burke, Dr. Larry Ollison, Dr. Billye Brim, Dr. Dick Mills, Dr. Terry Mize, Dr. Bob Harrison, Dr.Christopher Alam, and many others."
Taken from the FAQ on the 'university's' website.

After I watched this, my eyes nearly started to bleed. Thanks a lot, John. ;-)
Meanwhile, I'm thinking that I should get a PhD from Life Christian University! They obviously focus on lexical semantics there.

It's like going past a wreck. You don't want to look... but you do anyway...

Nick, you had me in stitches.

Jim, that's exactly the feeling I got. I want to go scrub my brain now.

I'm too close to 60 to feel less than a sad pity for this man and his congregation. How does one keep face or dignity when they find out how misinformed they have been or how can they mend the errors they have perpetrated? At nearly 50 I learned Classical Hebrew and NT Greek at a very good secular University to see what the Bible really said. I know it's not that simple but I rejoice at having the opportunity (and the debt). Often I have listened to a sermon and thought to myself, "They can't say that. The text does not support it."
I had a dream of teaching Christians both Hebrew and Greek at the same time (terrifying for the first few weeks but they can be used to help in understanding each other especially with the use of the Septuagint). I wanted people to get the same thrills as I did as the texts gained more visual richness, more nuance and sometimes just more plain simple understanding. I wanted them to see that knowing more about the ancient languages that the Bible is written in does not destroy faith but enlarges our comprehension of God. However, I am un-denominational (truly). Maybe someday it will happen.

Naomisu,
I encourage you to keep your dream alive. Maybe you just need to find a congregation with with the right leadership and vision. In my setting, I'm amazed at how many people want to learn the biblical languages, even if they don't have the time or the energy to go very far with it.
